These are my daughters, 5 and 2, whipping up some soup after catching a little culinary inspiration from Ratatouille. I wasn't allowed to help. They spent 20 minutes marching back and forth between the refrigerator, the pantry, and the kitchen counter, grabbing whatever they could reach and throwing it into a big white bowl before furiously mixing it all together. The entire time they were enthusiastic and focused. But the "soup" was an abomination.
Did I choke down the entire bowl and pretend to enjoy it? Of course, I'm not a monster.
Will the mother in your life do the same for a well-intentioned but inedible homecooked meal on Mother's Day this Sunday? Doubtful, because you're grown and no longer this cute.
If you're this helpless in the kitchen, don't worry, we can help you knock Mother's Day dinner out of the park. Here are a few dishes available at our Far Hills and Basking Ridge shops that Mom's sure to love.
